Want To Elope At Hurricane Ridge? Check Out These Photos For Inspiration.

Why choose Hurricane Ridge for an elopement?

There are few places better to elope than Hurricane Ridge in Washington State! Hurricane Ridge is a picturesque mountainous region located in the northern part of Olympic National Park. It is 18 miles from the quaint town of Port Angeles, which is the perfect home base for your elopement or wedding day!

Hurricane Ridge provides accessible epic mountain views, meadows of wildflowers, evergreen trees for days, an iconic visitor center, and a variety of hikes. Hard to think of a better elopement backdrop right?!

Hurricane Ridge Wedding and Elopement Vendors

Photographing Brooke and Josh’s elopement day in Port Angeles and at Hurricane Ridge was truly the highlight of my wedding season. With the help of an incredible vendor team, these two created an unforgettable and beautiful day. It was a dream to photograph and to experience!

And y’all, when I say incredible vendor team, I really mean it! The absolute best of the best in the region made this day happen. Check them out below!

When Is Hurricane Ridge Open?

The Hurricane Ridge Road is open throughout summer. During the winter season, the road is scheduled to be open Friday through Sunday and holiday Mondays, weather and road conditions permitting, and closed all other days.

Be sure to check the road status before going by calling (360) 565-3131. You can also check this site for connecting road statuses.

Hurricane Ridge has limited parking and once the lot is full the rangers limit one car in for one car out. This can cause long delays at the entrance station. Avoid this by having your elopement on a weekday or at sunrise or sunset.

When is the best time to elope at Hurricane Ridge?

In my opinion, the best time to elope at Hurricane Ridge is in August or September. During this time of year, the snow has melted, the wildflowers are blooming, and everything is more accessible and open!

Also, since the elevation of Hurricane Ridge is a very high 6,772 feet (2,064 meters) it can get chilly. Summer months will keep us warmer and happier on your elopement day!

Check out the Hurricane Ridge Webcams to keep an eye on the conditions throughout the year!

Should you hike at your Hurricane Ridge elopement?

‘Why would I want to hike during my elopement?!’

Well if you need convincing here are 3 very good reasons!

  1. Get away from the tourist crowds near the visitor center! Hurricane Ridge is one of the most visited places in Olympic National Park. A quick hike will get you away from the crowds and give you privacy.
  2. Share your love of the outdoors with your partner and create a unique memory and experience!
  3. Better views! Some of the best views at Hurricane Ridge are only a short hike away!
